basketballs for bird st. - donate a ball! an #OdwallaCFK and #Cbias SIMPLE service project

oh how excited am i to be able to do this?  teaming up with odwalla and their 'champions for kids' project, i'm on a mission to get some new basketballs for the bird street community center in dorchester, ma.

my friend kristen lives in the neighborhood, volunteers for a whole bunch of their projects, tutors there and basically helps make the place tick.  check out their website.  i wish every kid had access to such a positive place.

well, i contacted my friend and asked her to ask the center what they wanted most.  their answer: a basketball. one basketball?  i can do better than that and i'm on it!  i took a trip recently over to walmart and  hit up the sporting goods section.  check out my little picture story about it!

so, want to help?  one of my ideas was to have a sports drive... maybe with a kids team... but my kids aren't involved in organized sports yet, so i'll just throw it out to my readers.  donate a basketball!  how you say?

well... if you're local, drop one off!  i can arrange that.  not local?  go on over to amazon and pick a basketball and send it to the center.  now that's a pretty easy proposition, don't you think?

  1. That your friend only requested one basketball is such a testament about how so many organizations are able to do with less. I can't wait to see how they react when they get your donation!
