fits to a tee

i'm not usually one to espouse the virtues of any particular style or piece of clothing.  i have a finicky relationship with clothing in general as i think most women do.  before i lost some weight i was walking around in a case of constant disgust wondering who was the brainiac who thought blousy flowery tops look good on someone... anyone for that matter... never mind someone who shouldn't be wearing flowers... ever.  i bought things not because i liked them, but because i could find them in my size, forced to conform to what society said i should be wearing.  often items were still ill-fitting, but *fit.*  they were made of crappy material with bizarre details.

anyhow, now i find myself in a different predicament.  i have lost a significant amount of weight and find myself *still* hating everything i see.  now granted i have a lot more to choose from, but i still don't understand what the deal is with some of these styles.  i'm sorry, but no one looks good in skinny jeans and a big blousy shirt... ok, maybe my sister does.  but she looks good in everything (stinker!)

i also think that maybe i'm starting to butt up against that threshold in my life where i'm getting "stuck."  stuck in that era i like.  stuck in that era where i found things to be comfortable and basic and, well, me!  i'm a big plain old blue jeans, t-shirt and sweater... maybe even a cardigan and my danskos.  i change it up once in awhile with some fun socks (whoa now) and a nice bright tee, but other than that, i'm pretty ok with the basics.

i was pretty excited to get selected recently to try the crowdtap 'sample and share' program for tees and tanks. i'm a big old navy fan for their basics only.  some of their stuff i just don't understand, but i've found the tees, tanks and cardigans to be pretty tried and true... and inexpensive enough that if the occasional piece of playdough gets ground into it or mac and cheese gets thrown at it, it doesn't hurt the pocketbook much to grab an extra one.

i picked some very basic white v-neck vintage tees.  they're the perfect length, have just the right amount of stretch... and it's always nice to have a fresh clean white tee for the spring.

*and* i never really need an excuse to head over to the shipyard, but a shopping extravaganza with wahlburgers?  perfect.
