beleaguered, bothered and bpd
dear giant insurance company,
you can kiss my family's collective beleaguered, tired, frustrated a.r.s.e. i'm so tired of your ability (or seemingly so) to grind and grind and grind away my willingness to fight. i am my kids' advocate and if you think i'm just going to accept your rash decision and be ok with it, you are so abundantly wrong.
you cannot send a denial letter stating your decision was based on facts... list those facts... and have them be wrong. (big difference between 35 weeks gestation and 25 weeks gestation you a.s.s. hats)
you cannot say that 'someone who was independent and is in the specialty reviewed the case' and then say that person was a pediatrician. hello? the procedure needed is for my children's *lung issues.* that's a pulmonologist... and we have one... and he recommended it... and wrote you a letter... oh, and by the way... he's world renowned... and if you did your homework in the least you'd probably find literature written by him supporting the facts. your case manager couldn't even spell 'bronchopulmonary dysplasia.' christ, that's comforting {said beyond sarcastically}
ugh, i'm just so disgusted and frustrated and beaten down.
i'll refrain from the minutiae but let me just say that i so ridiculously disappointed with this whole thing right now... and because they've dragged out the decision to not cover something for my girls, they ended up with a hospitalization over the winter that most likely could have been avoided.
argh. ok. back to regular programming...
